Ramadan - An Occasion to Pray for a New Life

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting in Islamic tradition. This year, Ramadan began on May 26, and is going to end on June 26. The date varies depending on the location of the country.

During the holy month, Muslims abstain from eating or drinking during the day. Ramadan is the great festival when the Islamic fraternity celebrates joy, prays for all and exchanges good wished among themselves.
During the whole month, people eat before the sun rises and end the fast after the sunset. To end the fast, the traditional way is to consuming dates and drinking water. Spiritual rewards (thawab) are said to become more during the month of Ramadan.
During the month, prayers (salat) are offered more frequently, more reciting of the Quran and more amount of charity and good deeds. People pray for changing their troubles into boons. To start a new life!

The importance of the observing Ramadan is thus:
“The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins.” [Sunan an-Nasa’i Book-22 Hadith-116]
